All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has warmly welcomed the recent clear and principled stance of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir regarding Kashmir dispute. According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi in a statement in Islamabad said that General Asif Munir not only reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the Kashmir dispute but also lit a new candle of hope in the hearts of the Kashmiri people.

The Field Marsh, General Syed Asim Munir yesterday said, “No deal on Kashmir is possible, we can never forget Kashmir, water is Pakistan’s red line, and we will never accept India’s monopoly” Ghulam Muhammad Safi said this stand is a message for the Kashmiri people who have been making history of sacrifices against Indian domination for decades.

He said the Hurriyat Conference firmly believes in the fact that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had laid the foundation of an eternal truth by declaring Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan, and today this categorical and dignified stance of Pakistan’s military leadership reaffirms this historical fact. He said Field Marshal General Asim Munir’s statement is a reflection of Pakistan’s revolutionary and unwavering principled stance.

This message is not only a source of confidence and courage for the Kashmiri freedom fighters but also a eloquent message to the international community that Pakistan will not make any compromise on the Kashmir dispute and will always stand with the Kashmiris in their struggle for their right to self-determination, Ghulam Muhammad Safi maintained. He said the declaration of a “red line” is a manifestation of the fact that the Kashmir conflict is not only a humanitarian and political issue but also a question of Pakistan’s survival, security and future.

This categorical declaration against Indian water aggression shows an extraordinary determination to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty, he added. Ghulam Muhammad Safi further said their struggle will continue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations and emphasized that Kashmir is an international dispute according to the UN resolutions of the United Nations and the only just solution of which is to give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.

He said the Kashmiri people have continued their struggle for freedom despite Indian oppression and state terrorism and the struggle will continue until the Kashmiris get their legitimate and legal rights. The APHC-AJK Convener demanded of the international community, the United Nations, human rights organizations and the countries that champion democracy to break their silence on the Kashmir dispute and ensure the implementation of the UN.

“Turning a blind eye to Indian atrocities and human rights violations against the Kashmiri people is a question mark for the global conscience,” he added. He said the Hurriyat Conference reiterates with determination and courage that the freedom movement of the Kashmiris was a truth-based struggle, which no oppression, force or deception can suppress. He said the sacrifices of the martyrs, the steadfastness of the prisoners, and the struggle of the freedom-loving leadership are part of this great goal, which will soon be achieved.

He further said the Hurriyat Conference wholeheartedly appreciates the principled support of the military and political leadership of Pakistan and expresses the hope that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris on all fronts.Other APHC-AJK leaders, including General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmad Shah, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Ms Shamim Shawl, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi and Ejaz Ahmad Rehmani, also welcomed the Kashmir’s stance of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir.
