In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has rejected the unrealistic and obstinate statements by Indian leadership, reiterating that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory whose political future is yet to be decided. According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the recent aggressive remarks by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reflect their deep frustration.

He said India is maintaining its occupation of IIOJK solely through military force and is fighting a lost war in the territory. The spokesperson said that while India levels baseless allegations of terrorism against Pakistan, it is itself guilty of unleashing state terrorism against the people of Kashmir, making their lives miserable. He added that Pakistan’s strong and timely responses have unnerved the Indian leadership, which is now resorting to aggressive rhetoric to hide its failures and divert public attention.

The APHC spokesman said that the Hindutva-driven policies of the BJP-led Indian government and the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir have plunged South Asia into a state of perpetual uncertainty, with the looming threat of a nuclear conflict hanging over the region. He urged the international community to take serious notice of India’s intransigence and play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions to ensure lasting peace and security in the region.

The spokesman strongly condemned the increasing cordon-and-search operations, house raids, and arbitrary arrests of youth by Indian troops and agencies in the occupied territory. He appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council and other global rights organizations to hold India accountable for its grave human rights violations in the region.

He also expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ just struggle for the right to self-determination. He appreciated the statement by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, in which he emphasized that a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential for strategic stability in South Asia.
