Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, on Friday visited Shahpur tehsil and inspected development projects and public facilities. The commissioner inspected an ongoing Highways Department development scheme on Jail Road and directed the concerned officers to ensure its timely completion while maintaining construction standards. He also visited THQ Hospital Shahpur, inspected various departments and medical facilities, and inquired about patients’ health.
He sought feedback from patients and attendants regarding treatment, availability of medicines and other facilities, and directed the hospital administration to ensure quality healthcare, essential medicines, cleanliness and improved arrangements. At the newly constructed library, Hafiz Shaukat Ali reviewed the available books, reading space and other facilities. He said libraries played an important role in promoting reading among youth and providing educational and research facilities, directing the authorities to ensure all necessary facilities for students and citizens.
The commissioner also reviewed cleanliness activities under the Suthra Punjab programme, including waste collection and door-to-door sanitation. He directed the authorities to further improve sanitation standards and ensure effective waste management. At the General Bus Stand Shahpur, he reviewed cleanliness and facilities for passengers and directed the concerned officers to ensure basic amenities and necessary measures for public convenience.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali said better municipal services, a clean environment, quality healthcare and educational facilities, and improved infrastructure were among the administration’s priorities. He directed that field monitoring be strengthened to ensure timely completion of public welfare projects and delivery of their benefits to the people.
