Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday emphasized that education was the most important sector and called for collective efforts to resolve teachers' issues and improve the education system across the province. He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Malakand Division Senior Vice President Aurangzeb Inqilabi, which called on him at the Governor House to discuss education-related matters and the problems faced by teachers in Bajaur and Malakand.
The Governor said schools could not function effectively without principals and headmasters, warning that the education system would suffer if key administrative posts remained vacant. He also voiced concern over the reported use of schools as guest houses in the merged districts and stressed that educational institutions should be utilized solely for academic purposes.
Referring to the prevailing political situation, Governor Kundi said routine work in government offices had been affected due to the long march, adding that public service should not be compromised under any circumstances. He said everyone should work for the welfare of the people and the development of the province instead of pursuing personal interests.
During the meeting, members of the delegation also briefed the Governor on issues confronting teachers and sought his support for resolving them. At the end of the meeting, Aurangzeb Inqilabi and others presented a traditional turban to Governor Kundi as a mark of respect.
