In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has emphasized that war is not a solution to any problem, warning that it only results in the loss of innocent lives on both sides. Speaking to the media in Srinagar, Mehbooba Mufti underscored the importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, urging both countries to make sincere efforts to preserve peace.

“War is not a solution to any problem. War does not achieve anything except death and destruction. Innocent people are killed on both sides,” she said. “There is a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.  We have to work hard to ensure that it continues, and both countries must invest in sustaining it,” she said. Mufti highlighted that former Indian Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr. Manmohan Singh demonstrated that dialogue and cross-border engagement are possible even during tense periods.

Criticizing those who oppose the ceasefire, she added, “Those who question the ceasefire from the comfort of air-conditioned studios and drawing rooms should spend time with families on the borders to understand the daily reality of death and destruction.”
