At least two women lost their lives while two young girls sustained serious injuries after the roof of a house collapsed in the Shakardara area of here on Friday. According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Kohat, the incident occurred in Garha Khel village, where the roof of a house owned by a deceased person, identified as Khalid, suddenly caved in.

Rescue teams promptly reached the scene after receiving the alert and launched immediate relief operations. The bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Shakardara. The deceased women were identified as the wife of Khalid, aged around 50 years, and the wife of Faheemullah, aged about 20 years. 

The injured included a 16-month-old girl, Momina Bibi, daughter of Faheemullah, and another 12-year-old girl. Both were reported to be in critical condition. Rescue officials confirmed that timely response efforts helped evacuate the victims from the debris and ensured their swift transfer to the hospital for further medical treatment.
