Hyderabad Electric Supply Company’s (HESCO’s) Electricity Distribution Efficiency Improvement Project has recorded actual disbursement of $10.09 million, equivalent to Rs2.817 billion, as of August 2026, marking further financial progress in the power distribution improvement programme.

The project’s cumulative expenditure has reached $10.06 million, or Rs2.810 billion, according to the latest expenditure and disbursement statement available with Wealth Pakistan.

The document reports financial progress at 22.05% in dollar terms and 38.49% in rupee terms.

The project has received a cumulative allocation of Rs6.238 billion since the financial year 2023-24, with annual allocations rising significantly after the initial year as implementation moved forward.

For the ongoing financial year 2026-27, the project has been allocated Rs1.556 billion. Disbursement so far stands at $0.53 million, equivalent to Rs147.62 million, while expenditure has reached $0.51 million, or Rs141.92 million.

The largest annual allocation shown in the document was recorded in 2024-25 at Rs2.392 billion. During that year, $4.88 million, equivalent to Rs1.358 billion, was disbursed. Expenditure was also recorded at $4.88 million.

In 2025-26, the project received an allocation of Rs1.890 billion. Foreign disbursement during the year stood at $3.67 million, equivalent to Rs1.028 billion.

The expenditure statement records spending of $3.99 million, or Rs1.118 billion, for 2025-26.

The project’s financial activity began with an allocation of Rs400 million in 2023-24. Disbursement during that year amounted to $1 million, or Rs282.96 million, while expenditure stood at $0.68 million, equivalent to Rs191.68 million.

Together, the four financial years show total disbursement of $10.09 million, or Rs2.817 billion, against the combined allocation of Rs6.238 billion.

Total expenditure over the same period stands at $10.06 million, equivalent to Rs2.810 billion.
