First Kyrgyz Truck reaches Pakistan via China under QTTA FrameworkBreaking

April 24, 2026

Pakistan’s drive to enhance regional connectivity reached a milestone as the first truck from Kyrgyzstan carrying transit goods arrived at Sost Dry Port after entering the country via China under the Quadrilateral Traffic in Transit Agreement (QTTA).

This was reported by Gwadar Pro on Friday quoting a statement issued by the National Logistics Corporation (NLC).

The development marks the first instance of a Central Asian country transporting goods into Pakistan using its own vehicle, signaling a breakthrough in cross-border logistics cooperation under the QTTA framework, which links Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

According to the NLC, the movement was facilitated through its partner company in Kyrgyzstan and represents a tangible outcome of sustained efforts to operationalize regional transit corridors.

The truck carried commercial cargo and successfully completed its journey through China before entering Pakistan at the Sost border crossing in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Plans are currently being finalized to extend such operations from Sost to Karachi Port, which would provide landlocked Kyrgyzstan and other Central Asian states with direct access to global maritime trade routes.

“The participation of Kyrgyz operators under the QTTA framework is expected to further enhance direct connectivity between Bishkek and Karachi Port, offering the shortest and most efficient trade route,” the statement said.

Since 2024, NLC has been regularly transporting Kyrgyz-bound cargo from Karachi Port to destinations across Kyrgyzstan through a multimodal TIR system.

The operationalization of the QTTA corridor has also provided Central Asian states with a viable alternative trade route enabling the seamless movement of both perishable and non-perishable Pakistani goods via China.
