Eleven Pakistani college students advanced to the national final of the 25th Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, held online, showcasing their mandarin skills and cultural artistry under the theme “One World, One Family.”

The Pakistan regional final featured contestants from four Confucius Institutes across the country — in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Lahore.

In the speech segment, participants delivered passionate addresses on global unity and cross-cultural understanding, according to a Gwadar Pro's report.

The talent show session included classical poetry recitations, Chinese songs, calligraphy, traditional painting, Chinese dance and stand-up crosstalk routines.

After the final evaluation, the winners of the first, second and third prizes were announced. Pakistani champion Yun Hai described the victory as a milestone in his life. “This is a huge achievement in my life,” he said. “I am deeply grateful to my teachers and friends for their support, encouragement and help.”

The competition, officially known as the “Chinese Bridge,” is a major international Chinese proficiency event sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Education.

The Pakistan regional final was organized under the auspices of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

Since its inception in 2002, the “Chinese Bridge” has provided a platform for Chinese language learners from around the world to showcase their skills, share their learning experiences, examine their progress and build bridges of friendship.

The event has attracted more than 1.7 million young people from over 160 countries to participate in the overseas preliminaries, with more than 7,000 outstanding contestants invited to China for the global finals.
