Pakistan has delivered a forceful response to aggression by the Afghan Taliban, carrying out a major airstrike on Bagram Airbase that destroyed an aircraft hangar and two warehouses. According to the TV channel, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence and The New York Times have confirmed the Pakistani air strike conducted under Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq.

The US newspaper reported that Pakistan successfully targeted the strategically significant Bagram Airbase and that satellite images had emerged showing damage to an aircraft hangar and two warehouse facilities. The report further noted that evidence of the presence of “Fitna al-Khawarij” elements in Afghanistan has repeatedly been presented in United Nations reports.

The TV channel said Pakistan continues to carry out extensive ground and air operations in response to what it termed unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban. Over the past week alone, more than 50 airstrikes have reportedly been conducted against military targets inside Afghanistan. Defence analysts said the successful strike on Bagram Airbase inflicted significant losses on the Afghan Taliban regime.

By targeting one of Afghanistan’s most prominent military installations, Pakistan had sent a clear message that it retains the capability to strike anywhere inside Afghan territory if necessary, they added. Experts further argued that despite repeated warnings from Islamabad, cross-border militancy from Afghan soil has continued, with weapons left behind by US forces being used in attacks.
