Two Pakistani nationals have been arrested at the Torkham Border Crossing while attempting to travel to Afghanistan using fake documents, border officials informed on Wednesday. The Immigration Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), during routine clearance under the Immigration Fast-Track Registration (IFRP) system, identified two Pakistanis attempting to cross the border using forged manifests.

FIA officials at Torkham said that two separate cases involving fake travel manifests were detected during the operation. The arrested individuals were trying to bypass the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) system to illegally enter Afghanistan.  The suspects had each paid Rs. 80,000 to obtain the fake documents.

Initial investigations uncovered the involvement of an agent identified as Mahmood, who is believed to be part of the fraudulent network.  The accused have been shifted to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) of the FIA in Peshawar for further legal proceedings and investigation. FIA said that strict action will be taken against those involved in such activities.
