The murder case of young TikToker Sana Yousaf took another shocking turn when main accused Umar Hayat refused to accept the confessional statement that was reportedly recorded before a magistrate.

Umar Hayat, who appeared before Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka, told the court that he had no knowledge of what a confessional statement even was. He told the court that police had falsely implicated him in the case under pressure of the social media followers of Sana Yousaf and the public outcry over the tragic incident.

The accused said the police had not presented strong evidence and had depended on what he called fake documents, forced testimonies and fabricated cases. While giving his statement in court, Umar Hayat alleged that he was taken to the police station against his will and tortured into signing blank papers consisting of seven pages.

He also said that he had not visited Sector G-13 on the day Sana Yousaf was allegedly murdered and he strongly rejected his involvement in the crime.

Sana Yousaf is a popular TikTok star, and her case has generated a lot of public interest and emotion among her fans across Pakistan. Her death was announced online, and social media users have been calling for justice ever since.

The tragic case has also raised serious questions about the safety of social media influencers and the pressure on investigating agencies in high-profile cases. Many now await the court proceedings to see if all the truth behind the young content creator’s tragic death will come to light.
