Chinese firm, Sindh Authority sign MoU to promote investment cooperationBreaking

October 19, 2026

Jiang Tonland International Holding (Beijing) Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sindh Economic Zone Authority of Pakistan on the sidelines of the Sindh Investment Conference in Shanghai, aiming to promote investment, facilitate business partnerships, and strengthen China-Pakistan economic and industrial cooperation.

The conference sought to attract Chinese investment to Sindh, strengthen bilateral economic ties, and foster partnerships between government institutions and private-sector enterprises to support industrial development and employment generation.

The organizers told Gwadar Pro that the MoU was particularly significant among the agreements signed at the Sindh Investment Conference for its focus on bringing Chinese companies to invest in Sindh’s Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Under the MoU, the two parties will work together to identify potential investors, manufacturers, technology providers, and strategic business partners.

Cooperation will include facilitating investor engagement, arranging business meetings and site visits, and sharing information on investment opportunities, industrial land, infrastructure, and available incentives.

The proposed areas of cooperation include manufacturing, logistics, energy, infrastructure, technology, electric vehicles, automotive components, and industrial parks. Jiang Tonland International will help connect prospective investors with relevant stakeholders in Sindh, while the Pakistani counterpart will facilitate coordination with relevant authorities, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approvals.

The MoU was signed by Amanda He, chairperson of Jiang Tonland International, and Faisal Mujeeb, chief executive officer of the Sindh Economic Zone Authority.

It establishes a framework for introducing potential Chinese and international investors to investment opportunities in Sindh, particularly in designated special economic zones (SEZs) and other industrial and economic zones.

The agreement is intended to deepen China-Pakistan business ties and encourage foreign investment and industrial development in Sindh.

It also aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17, which promotes partnerships to advance sustainable development.

The Sindh Investment and Trade Conference 2026 took place in Shanghai, China, on October 15, 2026, led by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Over 400 delegates, business leaders, and representatives from more than 100 Chinese and international companies and financial institutions attended the event.

It was held after a 12-year gap since the previous Shanghai investment outreach.

The Sindh government signed 16 MoUs directly with Chinese companies, alongside 34 total bilateral/private-sector agreements to boost industrial modernization and job creation.
