Dona Hilda Solidarity Kitchen celebrates 6th Anniversary, volunteers from Pakistan supportBreaking

June 28, 2026

The Dona Hilda Solidarity Kitchen, located at the Santa Dulce Integrated Solidarity Center (CIS), celebrated its sixth anniversary with a special “Festival of Nations,” bringing together volunteers, staff, and project participants in a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, fellowship, and solidarity.

The event was organized to recognize and honor the diverse cultural backgrounds of the volunteers involved in the initiative.

The Solidarity Kitchen is currently supported by volunteers from Venezuela, Haiti, Pakistan, and Cuba, who have been welcomed in Brazil and now play an active role in the mission of serving those most in need.

The celebration began with a prayer led by Sister Georgette Bisimwa Nabarungu, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This was followed by a discussion session in which participants shared stories about their lives, traditions, and cultural heritage from their respective countries.

To highlight the diversity of the participating nations, the event concluded with the sharing of traditional dishes prepared by the volunteers themselves.

The gathering provided a meaningful cultural exchange while strengthening bonds of friendship and solidarity among all those present.

More than simply marking an anniversary, the Festival of Nations highlighted the mission of the Dona Hilda Solidarity Kitchen as a place of welcome, inclusion, and compassion—where people from different cultures come together to build a more humane, united, and caring society.
