A meeting chaired by Commissioner Jahanzaib Awan was held to review progress of road projects and special development schemes under the Chief Minister’s Local Government Programme in the districts of Sargodha, Khushab, and Bhakkar. The meeting was briefed that 251 local government development schemes are currently underway across the division, with a total expenditure of Rs 2.92 billion.

These include 231 schemes in Sargodha, 17 in Khushab, and 3 in Bhakkar district. Officials reported that most projects are about to complete as June 30 had been set as the target date for their finalization. In the road sector, work is progressing rapidly on 49 schemes in Khushab with an estimated cost of Rs 26.31 billion, and 43 schemes in Sargodha worth Rs 40.50 billion. Commissioner Jahanzaib Awan emphasized that there would be no compromise on quality. 

Jahanzaib Awan also announced plans to conduct field visits for on-site inspection of ongoing projects.Director Development Bilal Hassan, SE Highways Rana Abid, XEN Local Government Nasir Mekan, Deputy Director Technical Rana Shahid Imran, and deputy directors and XENs from Sargodha, Khushab, and Bhakkar districts were also present.
