Former Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Amir Siraj ul Haq on Friday said protecting Pakistan's ideological identity was a collective responsibility and called for practical efforts rather than slogans to achieve the country's stated objectives. Addressing the 45th Annual World Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Conference in Chenabnagar here, he said religious parties should be assessed on their practical efforts for Islamic reforms, including an interest-free economy, educational and moral reforms, and improvements in the judicial system.
He called upon the religious leaders to rise above their differences and adopt a joint strategy to pursue common religious and national objectives. Siraj ul Haq said the gathering was not a political rally, but a religious event reflecting the participants' devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and commitment to safeguarding the belief in the finality of Prophethood.
