The Ministry of Commerce has proposed three development projects with a combined estimated cost of Rs10.44 billion for inclusion in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2026-27.
According to a document available with Wealth Pakistan, the three projects have been submitted to the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives for consideration under the upcoming development program.
The biggest proposal is the Exports Promotion through Certification and Compliance Program, estimated at Rs6.9 billion. The initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan's export certification and compliance capacity to help exporters meet the international markets’ requirements.
The second project is the establishment of a WHO-accredited National Bio-equivalence and Bioavailability (BE/BA) Centre at Karachi, for which the Commerce Ministry has proposed Rs2.4 billion.
The proposed centre is intended to enhance the country's pharmaceutical testing infrastructure and strengthen its capacity to undertake bio-equivalence and bioavailability studies in line with internationally recognised standards.
The third project, titled Integrated Export Competitiveness, Innovation and Industrial Incubation Hubs, carries a proposed cost of Rs1.14 billion. The project aims to enhance export competitiveness, foster innovation and accelerate industrial incubation.
The three projects together involve a proposed investment of Rs10.44 billion, with the Commerce Ministry seeking their inclusion in PSDP 2026-27 and allocation of the required funds for implementation.
The proposals reflect the ministry's focus on improving export-related infrastructure while developing testing, certification, and innovation facilities to support Pakistan's industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.
